SENIOR VEGETATION ARTIST NEW IP
RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for an experienced Senior Vegetation Artist to join our team. In this role, you’ll craft highly realistic and meticulously detailed vegetation that brings our biomes to life. You’ll collaborate closely with Level Artists, Concept Artists, Designers, and the Art Director to create believable ecosystems that support both gameplay and visual storytelling, leveraging your experience with procedural systems and creating dynamic, high-quality vegetation.
Create a wide variety of high-quality, realistic foliage assets and materials for different biomes and ecosystems.
Collaborate closely with the Art Director and wider art team to align vegetation art with the game’s overall visual direction and tone. Assist in refining our vegetation pipeline, new features, processes, etc.
Utilize and master procedural generation tools to create complex and dynamic biomes efficiently.
Assist in refining and polishing levels from a vegetation perspective, ensuring consistency, readability, and visual impact. Identify and refine vegetation assets so stay within performance budgets.
Contribute creatively to world-building discussions, suggesting ways to enhance atmosphere, storytelling, and player immersion.
Conduct research and contribute to art bibles and internal documentation with references to ensure accuracy within in-game environments
Incorporate and leverage photogrammetry workflows to create high-quality vegetation.
Mentor junior artists, providing guidance, feedback, and technical support
REQUIREMENTS
5+ years of experience in AAA game development with a focus on environment or vegetation art
Proven ability to create highly realistic, detailed vegetation assets for real-time rendering
Expert knowledge of SpeedTree, Maya/3ds Max, ZBrush, Photoshop, Substance Painter, and baking tools.
Highly proficient in creating realistic environments
Experience with Houdini, including setting up procedural systems, scattering assets, and creating biomes.
Strong understanding of photogrammetry workflows and how to incorporate scanned data into game-ready assets.
Good understanding of how to turn individual objects into integral biomes.
Superior understanding of forms, shapes, structures, and silhouettes.
Familiarity with real-time pipelines and performance optimization for high-quality, realistic environments.
Collaborative and communicative, comfortable working closely with multidisciplinary teams.
Preferences
Experience with modern game engines (Unreal Engine, Unity, etc.).
Hands-on experience with photogrammetry tools and techniques.
Strong English communication skills and a passion for high-quality visuals
A genuine love for games and world-building
