LOCALIZATION MANAGER/TRANSLATOR

 
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a proactive Localization Manager / Translator to support our teams in delivering high-quality localized content and maintaining consistency across all player-facing communications. 

  • Translate and adapt in-game text, narrative content, UI, subtitles, marketing materials, and internal documentation between Ukrainian and English.  

  • Ensure translations preserve tone, context, worldbuilding, and narrative intent.  

  • Maintain and improve localization glossaries, style guides, terminology databases, and translation documentation.  

  • Coordinate localization tasks and priorities with Narrative, Production, QA, Community, and Marketing teams.  

  • Review and proofread localized content to ensure linguistic quality and consistency.  

  • Identify localization issues in-game and collaborate with QA teams on fixes and improvements.  

  • Help improve localization pipelines, workflows, and communication between departments.  

  • Support external localization vendors or freelancers where needed.  

  • Assist with culturally adapting content while preserving the creative vision of the game.  

  • Participate in playtests, reviews, and feedback sessions related to localized content 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Professional-level Ukrainian and English skills, both written and spoken.  

  • Comfortable managing and organizing large amounts of content using Excel or Google Sheets, with familiarity working in localization platforms, content management systems, or similar tools. 

  • Previous experience in localization, translation, copywriting, linguistic QA, or content management.  

  • Excellent understanding of tone, nuance, and context-sensitive translation.  

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.  

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.  

  • Passion for video games, storytelling, and immersive worldbuilding.  

  • High attention to detail and consistency.  

  • Comfortable working with multidisciplinary teams and receiving feedback.  

  • Proactive mindset and willingness to improve existing processes. 

 

Preferences

  • Previous experience in the games industry.  

  • Familiarity with CAT tools, localization software, or spreadsheet-based localization workflows.  

  • Experience with subtitle localization or narrative-heavy content.  

  • Understanding of gaming terminology and genre conventions.

  • Additional language knowledge is a plus.
