LEAD CONCEPT ARTIST
RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for a Lead Concept Artist to join our team. In this role, you will create high-quality realistic illustrations, sketches, and designs of characters, creatures, environments, weapons and objects, while also leading and supporting other concept artists. A successful candidate will contribute to the visual direction of the game and collaborate closely with the Art Director, 3D artists, and game designers to achieve the desired artistic quality that meets technical and stylistic goals.
Produce high-quality AAA concept art for characters, creatures, environments, weapons, props, and key visual assets.
Work closely with the Art Director to support and develop the visual direction of the game.
Lead and support the concept art team by providing clear artistic guidance, feedback, and mentorship.
Help maintain a cohesive and unique visual style across the game’s universe.
Participate in planning the scope, priorities, and delivery timelines for concept art needs.
Collaborate with game design, narrative, 3D art, animation, and VFX teams to ensure concepts support production requirements.
Review and provide constructive feedback on work created by mid-level and junior artists.
Ensure concept designs are clear, practical, and ready for smooth translation into 3D production.
Maintain a high quality bar for concept art through strong execution, artistic problem-solving, and attention to detail.
Create concepts based on direction from the Art Director and input from game design.
Support visual development for gameplay, storytelling, worldbuilding, mood, lighting, composition, and atmosphere.
REQUIREMENTS
5+ years of professional experience in concept art, including experience in a senior or lead role.
Experience working on at least one shipped AAA or AA title, or equivalent production experience.
Strong portfolio demonstrating realistic concept art for characters, creatures, environments, props, and weapons.
Excellent understanding of visual design, composition, anatomy, materials, scale, lighting, and detail.
Deep understanding of human and creature anatomy.
Strong traditional art fundamentals.
Ability to interpret written and verbal direction and translate it into strong visual designs.
Experience mentoring artists and providing clear, constructive feedback.
Strong understanding of the 3D asset creation pipeline and how concept art supports production.
Ability to balance creative ambition with production needs and technical limitations.
Proficiency with industry-standard concept art software.
Experience using 3D tools as part of your workflow.
Good English.
Collaborative team player.
Preferences
Experience working with engines such as Exodus SDK, Unreal Engine.
Experience creating concept art that supports VFX teams.
Experience helping define or maintain visual direction on a game project.
Strong understanding of cinematic composition, mood, lighting, and visual storytelling.
Passion for continuous learning and staying up to date with concept art, games, film, and industry trends.
